validated uv-vis spectrophotometric method for determination of gabapentin using acetyl acetone and formaldehyde reagents
Authors
abstract
gabapentin is an anticonvulsant widely used in the treatment of epilepsy.an accurate and validated spectrophotometric method was developed as an alternative method to determine gabapentin in pharmaceutical products. this is a simple, accurate, precise, selective and visible spectrophotometric method. the method is based on the measurement of drug absorbance as a result of yellow solution formation reaction between gabapentin and condensation products both from 2 molesacetyl acetone and 1 mole formaldehyde in basic condition (in boric buffer ph 9.5) at 55oc for 15 minutes. the detection was performed at 340 nm.this method is linear in the range of 10.8–80.0 µg/ml with correlation coefficient (r2) of 0.99954. the method was validated according to usp category i requirements for gabapentin. the validation characteristics include accuracy and precision, linearity, range, limit of detection and limit of quantitation. the acceptance validation criteria were found in all cases.

Validated UV spectrophotometric method for quantitative determination of Mirabegron in bulk and Pharmaceutical dosage form
In the present work simple, precise, specific, accurate and cost effective UV spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of Mirabegron in pure and pharmaceutical formulation. The wavelength of the Mirabegron detection was 251 nm using methanol as a solvent and obeys Beer’s law in the concentration range of 0.2 – 1.2 μg /mL with a correlation coefficient of 0.9991. Relati...
full textValidated RP-HPLC method for determination of permethrin in bulk and topical preparations using UV-vis detector.
An isocratic reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic method for the estimation of permethrin in raw materials and pharmaceutical topical preparations has been devised and validated. The chromatographic analysis was performed on a 5 μm particle C-18 Nucleosil (Macherey-Nagel, Germany) column (250 × 4.6 mm). Mobile phase consisted of methanol and 0.025 mM Phosphoric acid (85:15 v/v...
full textSelective and validated spectrophotometric methods for determination of ganciclovir with PDAB and Folin’s reagents
Two simple, sensitive, selective, accurate and precise methods (Methods A and B) have been developed for the quantitative estimation of ganciclovir in bulk drug and its pharmaceutical formulations. In Method A, presence of amino group in ganciclovir enables the use of condensation reaction with p-dimethylamino benzaldehyde, forming the greenish yellow colored complex due to the formation of Sch...

The present work reports a kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of traceamounts of sulphite that is based on inhibitory effect of sulphite on the oxidation of Methyleneblue (MB) in acidic media. The reaction is followed spectrophotometrically by monitoring thedecrease in absorbance of MB at 664 nm with a fixed time of 0.5-4.5 minutes. It was found thatsulphite exert a strong ...
